Chocolate Mint

Fresh, organic, chocolate mint leaves, cut straight from a pot on my patio, is a delight. The first time you taste a fresh chocolate mint leaf, you might think someone is playing a trick on you. Chocolate mint leaves smell and taste like mint and, well, chocolate. Reminding me of my ever favorite ice cream ~ mint chocolate chip, without the calories.

There are many uses, the simplest is adding it to a of cool glass of  water or lemonade.  On a cooler day, you can pour warm water over it and make tea, or put a few sprigs in your coffee in the morning for a delightful new flavor.   Any recipe that calls for mint, you can replace it with chocolate mint for a bite of a flare.

Store mint stems down in a glass of water with a plastic bag over the leaves. Refrigerate for up to a week, changing the water every two days.
