Recently I've come to realize the changes that have happened during the time that we have lived here. We started out in snow, and slowly it melted, We built a small garden, which eventually turned into a large garden. We celebrated excess in the produce department and we sold it to those interested. Which in turn made this blog about what was growing and ideas of how to best use our produce, which included many herbs.
Then a goat or two came along, and eventually there was excess milk, which was turned into various cheeses and yogurt.
A baby was added here, and he's now almost four, he has been joined by another brother. Boys grow, and now schooling has started up again. So once again change occurs, thus changing what I write about.
This one was so excited to start school he got up early, walked the dogs, and made everyone a bowl of oatmeal with fruit, all so he could put together a book shelf that would be storing our schooling supplies.
Since we are choosing to home school, my kids have also chosen what grade they are in.
Why would a boy going on seven want to be in first grade anyway?
To celebrate the first day I let them go shopping with me and pick out their own outfits.
It was fun to see what they liked. Spiderman and ninja turtles, who knew?
And first days wouldn't be real first days without funny faces and excitement!
Then we had a party with friends and enjoyed making knitting needles for future handwork projects.
Note the number of girls around the table to my two boys, this erupted in a crazy kissing game of which my oldest chased the girls. Wonder how that would be handled in public school? I'm sure the larger number of kids in a regular class would have intimidate my bold son and he would have most likely kept his lips to himself. He did inform me afterwards that he didn't kiss anyone on the lips, thank goodness.
So our farming journey continues, as we start a new chapter.....
