Around Easter families like to take their children to the farm store and see the baby chicks and ducks, which often ends in a purchase of baby chicks and ducks. Like most animals, they start out really cute and easy to take care of and then they get bigger and are more to handle then one bargained for, and the kids are no longer interested. Not to mention the smell that accompanies animals.
The previous two Easters have lead families to our farm for a chicken
drop off, two year ago we acquired this frizzle, a half sized chicken.
Just two weeks ago we found her sitting on eggs. We would have never
noticed any of our other hens avoiding going in to the coop at night, as
all of our other hens have lots of hens that look just like them, not
this little girl she is one of a kind.
Upon finding her sitting on eggs we had a good chuckle. We didn't
believe that she could hatch any, as there is only one rooster, also an
Easter's buyers remorse, that could even fertilize her. Much to our
surprise, she laid, and hatched out five cute
tiny little babies.
