Pete was hanging out with our dear friend Kahla Rowan at Eight Acres, and he made the suggestion that they should host a farmers market there. It's a magical piece of property just behind Shenandoah subdivision off of Tonganoxie Road and 20th St. I'm not sure who was more excited, but the idea has gone from being just a dream to a reality. Last Friday they had their opening market, and it was a blast. The environment and people invited everyone to hang out and get to know one another and play a while. Pete took some of our baby goats, and everyone loved them.
Should I mention that my cute boys where there just romping around, trying to catch frogs. So if you are looking for organic, locally grown produce, honey, and eggs, or are just looking for place to take the kids, then you should come join us on Friday evenings from 4-8.
The official address is 28013 167th St. Or take a Tonganoxie Rd. off of 20th St. as if you are leaving Leavenworth, take your first right on Michal's St. follow it just past where the pavement ends, look for a right hand turn, and there will be a huge stone with a sign that says Eight Acres. Drive on in and enjoy a fun evening.
