We've Got Two New KIDS!

What a surprise! Yesterday while Pete was passing the goat pen he heard a little "maaa" and looked over to see two little babies.  Buttercup, their mama, never showed signs of labor, she just pushed them out in the middle of the pen and there they were.  Some goats don't have the know how to take care of their babies, but not our Mama, she started cleaning them and caring for them right away.  She is okay with us holding them around her, but she likes to keep an eye on them.  The bigger of the two babies went over to the little one and started licking it and pushing it to stand up.  It was awesome to just sit around and watch, nature is so incredible. 

We like to let our kids name our animals, and since Rivs doesn't talk as of yet, G-man got the honor.  This isn't totally true, our first goats he tried to name Garbage and Can, and we re-named them Cookies and Cream.  This time we just went with it.  He named the bigger male baby Jar Head, and the little girl he named Granola Oatmeal, the very thing we were eating when Pete ran into to tell us.  I just hope next time we aren't eating Lasagne or Spaghetti.
