Slip n' Sliding

The slip n' slide has a long history here on the farm.  It has been Oma's desire and dream to have a fun slide n' slide for her grand kids.  It has evolved over the years.  It originally started in front of the house involving wooden boards with plastic over them with a garbage can full of water to wash us down.  Didn't work okut so well but the attempt is still spoken of.

Then she resorted to buying slip n' slides from the store, which incorporated at least three slides.  These could only handle the wear and tear of one set up.

Now the slip n' slide is a large, thick, red, plastic roll.  It's about five feet across and so far only 50 feet have been unrolled for the length.  We run in down the hill in the backyard with a hose and some dish soap.  The soap pulls double duty, as it adds to the slipperiness of the slide, but it also aids in getting my little farm-boy clean.  So this posting is in dedication to Oma for not giving up on her adventurous dream of having the ultimate slip n' slide for her grandkids, it's a hit.

So far this summer we've had ten friends over to partake of this fun.  Hope there are many more days like this this summer joined by many more friends.
