Welcome!

Welcome to our family blog, where we'll be telling all of our farming adventures, or at least the ones that we're willing to share. This is our little way of connecting to all of our friends and inviting you to stay in contact and to take a peek at what our farm life is like.

This adventure all started about a year and a half ago when my husband fell in love with my parent's farm. We dreamed and planned for the 'move' and what the farm would be like for a year. This past March we arrived and there was still snow on the ground, I questioned what we were doing here having left sunny Arizona. Since that cold day we have been joined by two goats and 35 chicks.

There is a beautiful garden where we are growing: peas, swiss chard, lettuce, beats, broccoli, green beans, peppers, tomatoes, carrots, watermelons, leeks, and cucumbers. I, the Mama, have also included tons of flowers. There are tons of other plants that just need to find a home in our garden, like: cantaloupe, spaghetti squash, acorn squash, zucchini, a pink banana squash (you should look this one up). There are also blueberry bushes and blackberry bushes, as well as two orchards of fruit tress, that were planted over the years by Opa.

Work, yes, lots of work, but we get to be together as a family. There is nothing like the request of a two year old to go dig in the garden with his papa. He can really dig. So this is our introduction to our family farm, we'll keep you posted on our projects and how things are going. Remember none of us have ever done this before so the learning curve is steep.
